About Trader-Price

The musical group known as Trader-Price consists of Dan, Erick, and Chris Price, three brothers originally from Burns Flat Oklahoma. The three began playing together during college in Western Oklahoma, and later were joined by their oldest brother Ron and youngest brother Regi. In 1976, the band of five ( known then as Skwydro-Heegie) moved to Nashville and became one of the hottest rock 'n' roll acts in the area, while working on their own compositions in a studio there.

At the introduction of  a recording engineer at that studio, Roy Orbison discovered their talent and asked them to perform as his backup band and open shows for him as his opening act . That partnership initiated hundreds of tour engagements all over the world, two studio albums of their music recorded by Roy, a movie and movie soundtrack in Shelby, North Carolina, opening for the Eagles Long Run tour in 1980, and a writing collaboration between Chris and Roy that resulted in the Grammy award winning performance by Roy and Emmylou Harris of the song called That Lovin' You Feelin' Again".

The band separated from Roy in 1982 to more actively pursue their own career after returning to Western Oklahoma. In the years that followed and after the deaths of Ron and Regi, Dan, Erick and Chris continued to write and record in their own studio in Burns Flat, Oklahoma, and later signed with Capitol music and entered into a management and touring partnership with Reba McEntire and her management company Starstruck Enterprises.

A song entitled "Lately Rose" written by the brothers became a huge CMT country music video. The band continued to write and perform throughout the 90s and early 2000s as a country group, gathering a large following throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and surrounding states during the height of the 90's country music resurgence.  During that time they recorded another self titled album on Rodeo X records in Dallas, and recorded two albums of Contemporary Christian music with an artist in St. Louis.  In 2015 the brothers agreed to end their performances of over 40 years, while continuing to collaborate on songwriting.
